Holi festival

The Holi festival around Mathura is different from the main Holi events in India due to its unique traditions and significance. Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, celebrates Holi with dances, and the throwing of colors and water. The festival is marked by energetic and enthusiastic celebrations, with a focus on the theme of divine love and the triumph of good over evil. The Lathmar Holi in Barsana and Nandgaon near Mathura is particularly famous, where women playfully beat men with sticks, symbolizing the playful teasing between Lord Krishna and Radha. These distinctive rituals and cultural significance set the Holi celebrations around Mathura apart from the main Holi events in India.

We will return again on March 16th, to take advantage of our years of experience in the difficult to navigate logistics of running photography tours during the main events.

We have one last minute place left, due to a late cancellation, and we are prepared to discount that place. Please contact us via the website asap if you are interested.
