WEEKEND RETREATS

WEEKEND RETREAT TO KAMPOT

If you ( and your mates ) want to get out of PP for a weekend or if you are just visiting Cambodia and you want to see something a bit different to Angkor, want to learn something new, and take take some great pictures then just let me know or set a date for the 24th September 2010.

I will be running a long weekend with my friend and fellow pro photographer/ Photo Shop specialist Dave for a fun couple of days of Travel Photography Workshops and field trips.

We will arrange transport to leave Phnom Penh late afternoon (4pm) on Friday evening to arrive at our hotel in Kampot for around 7.30pm, an evening meal and a get together. (There is a possibility if demand dictates that we can arrange another mini bus to leave PP at 6am Saturday Morning)

The fun starts at 6am for a sunrise riverside walk.

After breakfast we regroup for a Travel Photography Workshop by Nathan Horton or a leisurely walk around Kampot lead by David for those who might have done the workshop before.

We then all meet back in a riverside restaurant for lunch.

After a siesta, we will make our way out for an afternoon trip to the fabulous paddy fields in between Kampot and Kep via a Cham village and traditional rural houses and the odd temple. To practice some of the skills you were taught in the morning.

Early evening we plan to arrive in Kep for late evening sunset and crab dinner, before driving you back to Kampot.

Sunday Morning. We will take a trip to fishing villages , a coastal port and a seaside resort with great ocean views in the foot hills of Bokor mountain - a fantastic opportunity to practice both landscape and portrait photography.

After lunch David Mckee will lead a tips and tricks workshop in Post Production technique that will help you take your pictures to another level, after which we can review each others best work before heading back to Phnom Penh around 4pm.

The total cost for the weekend will be $400 per person or $700 for two people willing to share a room - to include all teaching, guidance transport, accommodation and food.

PRIVATE CLASSES

When I am not on longer tours or weekend day trips I live in Phnom Penh and I am happy to tailor make a class, day trip or a short course to meet your needs.

- If you feel you have specific photographic needs please don’t be afraid to ask.

- If you are a complete beginner and want to get to grips with the basics in a one- on –one environment I can get you started.

- If you feel you have a firm grasp of the basics but want to improve your technique I offer a mentor program to combine a private workshop and local guided tours.

- If you are in Phnom Penh and feel there must be more to photograph I can show you places many tourist's don't know about, or take you to places you might be afraid to go by yourself. (Living locally and speaking a little of the language helps.)

- If you want to learn how to take better low level light shots or long exposure night shots I can offer an evening workshop for you. Starting off with local monuments (and perhaps finishing local night clubs.)

- If you just want to improve your post- production techniques I provide introduction tutorials to my preferred software tool Adobe Lightroom.

- If you have a bunch of mates and you want to take a short photographic retreat out of Phnom Penh to Kampot, Kep, Koh Kong, Kratie or anywhere else in Cambodia I offer periodic weekend retreats.
